Filled with activities by artists and a drawing to win art by some of the Twin Cities most beloved artists. All to support SooVAC's programming and exhibitions.

Guess Who? Changed the World by Alyssa Baguss

Spring Fling Activity Spotlight: Guess Who? Changed the World is a playful reimagining of the classic board game Guess Who? created by artist Alyssa Baguss. Featuring 24 trailblazing women from history, this interactive experience invites players to uncover iconic figures through yes-or-no questions—like “Did she win a Nobel Prize?” or “Is she an artist?”—while sparking dialogue around women’s achievements in science, politics, activism, and the arts. Fun, nostalgic, and thought-provoking, this self-guided game is both a celebration and a conversation starter about the women who have changed the world.

Meet Me Halfway by the Bear

Arm wrestle me in a bear costume. If you win, you will get a flower. Secondly, Donate to SooVAC for a bear hug on the night of the event.

Spring Fling Activity Spotlight: Gocco Fling A Postcard Print Giveaway with Ruthann Godollei.
Gocco means 'Pretend' in Japanese. It's also a fun toy that makes printing easy. See Gocco printing in action and pick up a print-while-you-wait postcard, or print your own Spring Fling memento.

Weaving with Fawzia Khan

Come learn how to weave with artist Fawzia Khan. Fawzia will bring her floor loom, which is already warped for you to try your hand at weaving. Experiment with different materials and treadling to see what happens.

Botanical Printmaking by Lynaea Russom

Botanical Printmaking-Upcycling over ten pounds of well-loved clothing, fabric, etc., Lynaea Russom (she/they) brings a make-your-own printed bouquet event to Spring Fling. Using rubber stamps, a mixture of inks, and patterned fabrics, each gallery goer will leave with a 100% unique print. Lynaea will have various fabrics and sizes, from bandana to pocket size (or bring your fabric/paper, should you fancy!)

Make an Embroidered Patch With A Message by Amy Rice

Make an Embroidered Patch With A Message-Artist Amy Rice has handprinted bugs, butterflies and word bubbles onto felt and will teach you three basic embroidery stitches so you can create a patch with your own message.
