Ivonne Yáñez is an interdisciplinary artist and fashion designer from Mexico City. She earned her Master of Fine Arts degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2023 and holds a bachelor's degree in Fashion Design from both the Universidad del Valle de México and the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan. Her work has been exhibited in various venues, including the Rochester Art Center, SooVAC, Gallery 148, and Gamut Gallery in Minneapolis, as well as Random Access Gallery in Syracuse, New York, and the Museo Sebastián in Chihuahua, Mexico. Currently, Ivonne is an educator at the Walker Art Center and serves as an adjunct faculty member at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). She also teaches at the Textile Center, where she focuses on preserving and promoting traditional Mexican textile techniques. Ivonne's artistic work explores the connections between memory, surrealism, and Mexican cultural traditions, using mediums such as installation, painting, and textile sculpture.
