Jaron Childs: Ruptures

Jaron Childs is a painter whose subject matter derives from his extensive collection of found photographs. His recent cycle treats emotionally intense subject matter with photorealistic precision. Based on a series of photographs of people crying, Childs shows the complexity and range of human emotion through an austere, un-sensationalized lens. This series was shown at Soo VAC in the artist’s debut solo show.
